Alberto Bali was born in 1944 in Rosario, Argentina's second city, a great grain port on the Parana River. Having originally trained as an architect, he chose upon his arrival in Europe to abandon the straight line, the ruler and compass to his colleagues, and to venture forth instead into the heady tracks of artistic expression. But he has never completely abandoned his architectural origins. In all the different artistic expressions that he explores one after the other, from painting to sculpture, design, graphic design, advertising & interior design, Bali treads a delicate line between the poetry of imagination and the ineffable rigor of composition. As an interior designer, but also a bon vivant, it was only natural that he should be the one to decorate the restaurants of such great names as Alain Dutournier and Joel Robuchon.
