As a student in architecture in the late 70s, Jacques de Loustal began to publish illustrations in Rock & Folk, where he met Philippe Paringaux with whom he was to write several scenarios of comic books. They went on to sign several albums together before striking out their separate ways. In addition to writing comics, Jacques regularly works as an illustrator for publishers (especially the works of Georges Simenon), newspapers (The New Yorker, Senso…) and advertising. His paintings have been shown in galleries in Paris, Belgium, Switzerland and Japan. A great lover of travel, he relates his travels in a series of travel books published by Editions du Seuil.
