This poster is the first of the two created by Lyu Hanabusa for Wili’s Wine Bar. When asked in 1993 by Mark Williamson to create a photographic image in relation to wine joys, the beautifully-minded Hanabusa wanted to create a strong, lasting and fantastical response to the pleasures of wine, in sympathy with the series. The result was this elegant and eloquent homage to Man Ray. Lyu Hanabusa was born in Osaka, Japan, and has published a wide variety of works including portraits of celebrities, nude photography, collaborative works with novelists, and travel and landscape photography.
